Just Because....

So I was looking at a friends blog and she had posted a picture of her "swollen" feet. I just laughed. That is something about my pregnancy with Kaylee that I will NEVER forget. I guess I will post this to remind myself...and give you all a good laugh!

Yep. Those are my feet. And yes there is No definition, no shape and yes my toes did feel like they would pop off at any second.
So my dears....those are swollen feet!

All About my Second Baby

Since Kennady is 6 months old and it has flown by I wanted to fill this out for myself before I forget too much!
1. WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED?: Not really. We were hoping to have the girls about 2 years apart so it was a little early, BUT what can ya do! Bring it on baby!
2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME?: Yes almost 4 years.3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS?: What the what?!? haha no I was surprised, but it wasn't anything like your first. At least you kind of know what to expect and it was something we knew we wanted eventually so we just got over the fact that "eventually" came a little early :)
Side note I thought, "Sweet. One period in over two years. I'm not complaining!"

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU?: 23
6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT?: We were on vacation in San Diego and I felt like crap. Nothing sounded good, not even our beloved Taco Surf, and I had been throwing up. SO we went and got a pregnancy test, I kind of already knew it would be positive cause I just felt it, but was in denial. It was the kind that said Pregnant or Not Pregnant. Well I took it and indeed it said Pregnant!
The test is hidden under my arm!
7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST?: Sorry AGAIN Mom, but it was Katie AGAIN (after Shane of course) I told her in the bathroom of the condo at San Diego.
8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX?: DUH! We cannot NOT find out. We're too impatient.
9. DUE DATE?: January 24, 2009
10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?: Nah. I was fine this one.
11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?: Onion Rings for the first little while. Then it was Pace Picante salsa. I ALWAYS felt like chips and salsa.
12. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST?: I honestly don't remember. I probably was a beast at times, but I don't remember getting all crazy. You should ask Shane :)
13. WHAT WAS YOUR CHILD'S SEX?: GIRLY GIRL. That's how we role apparently.
14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING?: Nope. Of course we would love a boy, but since the babies would be close together we thought it would be fun if it was another little girl!
15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN?: I gained 31.6 lbs to be exact!
16. DID YOU HAVE BABY SHOWERS?: Nah. It was another girl and she was my second. Maybe if we EVER have a boy people will "shower" me again!
17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW?: I knew I wasn't having any :)
18.DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY?: Just that dreaded heartburn! BUT this time I was prepared and started poping antacid pills right from the start!
19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH?: At Orem Community Hospital.
20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?: 3 1/2 hours, and that is only because I had to wait 30 minutes for my Doctor.
21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL?: My Mommy, who happens to be the best!
22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH?: Shane, my Mom and Katie
23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION?: Natural. I had gone to see Twilight with my Mom and Stina. We got home about midnight and then I went to bed. I woke up about 3:00 am because my stomach hurt and I threw up. It sucked. Just as I felt like I was getting back to sleep and feeling ok my water broke. I was like, "Seriously." I was kind of a brat and laid in bed like, "I am going to get some rest dang it." That was a bad idea because that was at 4:00 am and by the time I was driving to the hospital at like 5:00 am I was already contracting every mintute. I was a 5 when I got to the hospital and was having contractions on top of contractions. After I fianlly got my epideral I was so happy and sadly so drugged. I didn't mind because I couldn't feel a thing and was SO happy :) I even called my brother-in-law to chat. He said I sounded delerious :) They checked me again at like 7 am and I was ready, but they told me to roll to the side because we had to wait for my doctor. She came, I think I pushed like 3 times; didn't even feel like I was doing it good, and then they said she was almost here. I seriously felt like I was dreaming, and then there was Kennady in my arms. It was so easy this time. It sounds awful that I was drugged and all that but after Kaylee's birth this was a blessing. I was way tired after though, but I am fine with that versus the alternative. Kennady was retracting a little when she breathed becuase she was 3 weeks early so they watched her for a bit. Then later they decided to give her some antibitotics as a percaution because I had the beta-strep thing. She of course ended up being totally ok after just a bit and so went home a few days later. She had a little trouble eating at first, because she was early and didn't get the sucking thing down, but is fine now and has the thunder thighs to prove it!
The day before I gave birth. I look so happy
24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN?: HECK YES! I was already dilated to a 3 1/2 for a week so once my water broke it started fast and hard core. I said. "Drugs please" the second I walked in the door and anxiously awaited the epideral. When the anestegioligist finally came and gave me my 3 doses (they had to because I was far along and they wanted i tto work for me) and they kicked in I was on cloud 9!! haha
25. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH?: 6 lbs 13 oz 19 in
26. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN?: January 4, 2009.
27. WHAT DID YOU NAME YOUR CHILD?: Kennady Lynn. We liked the name Kennady when we had Kaylee, but Kaylee won. This time it was between Kennady and Claire. We decided on Kennady and then Lynn because that is my mom's middle name and Shane's dads' name.
28. ANY SIBLINGS? Kaylee Christine is the proud big sister. She has loved Kennady since they day she met her. She has always showered her with hugs and kisses. She is a wonderful big sister and she loves her Kenny very much!
Our FIRST cute family picture
Kennady's little friend Berlin Johnson who was suppose to be born before her! Sorry Neen!
Some of the many visitors Kennady had during our stay at the hospital. She is very lucky to have SO many people who love her so much!
29. HOW OLD IS YOUR BABY TODAY?: Our little chunky babe is 6 months old!

Bye, Bye Mullett!

We cut Kaylee's hair. After almost 26 months of life we finally gave in and cut her hair. We were hesitant because luscious locks are not in our girls cards, however we were hoping the trim would encourage her hair to grow more. So here are some pics of the cut that Shane did himself, yes its true, and he did a fabulous job.

BEFORE
AFTER

Drum roll please.....

Kaylee went poo in the potty!!! (Sorry about the actual poo in the picture. Shane took it)
She was very pleased with herself. It's hard when your child says, "Mom, I pooped change me." Um you are ready! So I had told her earlier that day, Please Kay try to tell me when you have to go poo poo because it is gross to change you. So she told me later that she had to poop, I put her on the toilet and she did!! She was so happy. She said, "I want to tell ellebody." So we made the calls and she proudly told them how she pooped, flushed it, took a picture and got a cookie :) Yeah Kaylee. We are so happy!! Hopefully this is the start of something.

Sundays...

This is Kaylee on Sunday while I was doing Choir practice at church. She yelled up to her dad, "Dad, I'm wready to go. I did my ape-up." Yes Kay you indeed did some make-up!!

6 Months old...and Independence Day!

Baby Kenny is 6 months old! YEAH. Its crazy to think that in this amount of time, that has whizzed past, she'll be 1! ahhh. Where did both my babies go. At this age she can:
*drool an insane amount
*talk and coo
*eat baby food in the big highchair...so cute! She even likes veggies :)

*roll over from tummy to back and ALMOST from back to tummy
*scoot and move via arching her back and kicking her legs
*laugh, especially at Kaylee who only has to look at her
*she likes to watch So you think you can Dance :)...really she does

*she loves to hold onto your hair or reach back and touch your face while you are holding her
Kennady's a happy little chunk. She is the best little baby, so sweet and so good. We are too lucky with this one. Here they both are at 6 months old!ALSO the same day Kennady turned 6 months was also a little thing called 4th of July. YEAH!
We watched the parade in the morning with Katie & Mikey then later went to the Fehlbergs for a BBQ and then to the park to watch fireworks. It was a long and busy day, but we had a very good time together with our family and friends. Although the Stadium of Fire firework show was a disappointment Kaylee and Kennady both loved the fireworks. Kaylee was sad when they were done. She told us, "The fireworks went away. They got a snack." haha who knows but it was cute. We entertained ourselves after the weak firework showing by playing a good ol' game of charades! Thanks to all who participated!!
I love 4th of July. BBQ's, friends and family and a chance to pay tribute to those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today. It is such a blessing to live in a free land. Shane and I stayed up watching Slumdog Millionaire and although America is in a bit of a pickle right now we still are so truly blessed. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

A Little Too Much Magnesium I Guess....

For the record, Shara is 100% against me (Shane) posting this blog entry. That being said, here is a great video for all you "do it yourself-ers" with your homemade fireworks. Watch that Magnesium; it'll get ya.

Hooooly Smookes.
