We Love Christmas!!

So like I said we are home in Sacramento for the holidays this year. Kaylee enjoyed her first Christmas and even met the big guy himself, Mr. Claus (without even crying may I add) It has been wonderful being around my family and it was so cool to be able to talk to my brother who is on his mission in Culiacan Mexico. He has such an accent. He sounds like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite!! It was so funny. He is doing so well. He has less than 3 months left and we can't hardly wait.

Christmas was nice. It was really fun seeing everyone and their reactions to the gifts we gave them. I guess we're kind of at that point with Christmas now. Finally loving the giving more than the receiving (don't get me wrong I still LOVE the receiving) but it was such a cool thing watching my family get excited with what we gave them. Kaylee was totally excited about the bows and ribbon. She loved all the stuff she got, but was more concerned with trying to eat the tissue paper! Her grandparents and Aunts and Uncles sure spoiled her this year. It is such a blessing to see how much they adore our little girl! She is so lucky to have so much love in her life. Even her Auntie B and Grammy Dee got her a gift. The cutest little tutu ever!

Shane and I are enjoying the company of family and good friends. Unfortunately I am also enjoying the yummy food and holiday treats we have around. I definitely need to stick to my New Year's Resolution this year and get in shape! It has been a blast playing cards late into the night and watching LOST! I love being with my mom and sisters!

It is also so amazing to see Kaylee growing up right before our eyes. She has so many new little talents (I use to say tricks but someone said that is only for dogs) She smacks her tongue mimicking Katie chewing gum, she does the kiss noise and now has found her tongue. She makes new sounds everyday and purses her lips together hard when she doesn't want what you are trying to feed her. She loves cell phones and hasn't been fooled by the old broken one we've tried to trick her with. She is actually a little sick right now and Shane and I are so sad for our little baby.

We will be here for just a little bit longer and then it is back to the snow. Of that I am not excited but it will be good to see Family and friends in Utah. Here are some pictures from our holiday festivities. ENJOY!

Home for the Holidays!!

We are home in Sacramento for the holidays. I was so excited to come home. My family generally was excited to see the baby and Shane was excited to get a break from work! Kaylee was greeted with much love and is already being completely spoiled (which we just love). It is such a wonderful thing to see those you care about receive so much love! Kaylee loves Grandma's house. She already has her own cell phone to eat, an Uncle Johnny doll and has had ice cream! We are glad we were able to make it here and are excited for Christmas and the chance to talk to Elder Shepherd :)

Now Johnny just needs to get back from Mexico so we can take a new Shepherd Family picture....March baby! We can't wait!

Not Good At Blogging

Ok guys we are terrible at Blogging but now that I know its suppose to be a daily thing I promise to be better. Well Lets see a lot has happened since Halloween not to mention since we moved to Provo. So in summary we did alarm sales in Oakland, California and the best thing about it was being close to my fam, making good friends and having Kaylee!! Now we are in Happy valley!! YEAH! We live in Provo and are having a blast with our little place and our little girl. She is such a doll and gets cuter everyday. Today she is 7 months old. Man does the time fly. We have been busy lately getting settled into our new place. Its been crazy going through all our stuff, but we are finally in. Kaylee has been a trouper especially considering she has been teething! She has her bottom tow teeth and is getting her top right one now. We just took Shane's sister to the MTC, she's going to Thailand and are getting ready to go to Sac for Christmas. We can't wait.
Kaylee is a blast and just amazes us everyday with her new tricks. We can't even imagine life without her.
Here are some pics from the past few months, everything from Thanksgiving to family pictures. Hope you enjoy.

Kaylee's 1st Photo Shoot

Our little Miss Kaylee had her very first photo shoot while we (Shara and Kaylee) were in Sacramento visiting Grandma and Grandpa Shepherd. It was my mom's idea and so we got some outfits and off we were. She was quite the sport and although she didn't give us a cheese ball show like we would have liked she did great. It was super hard trying to pick our favorites. Now we just need to get some done as a family!

Just the Three of Us

So, after a long and crazy summer selling alarm systems to the choice people that live in the ghettos of Oakland we return to happy-valley to start living our lives. All things considered it was a good time. Met some nice friends, learned a little about myself and selling stuff to people who don't want anything to do with me, made a little money, but more importantly than all that the 2 of us became 3.

In the heart of the toughest part of Oakland we arrived at the hospital at about 1:30 in the morning. Most of you haven't driven through the middle of a real ghetto in the middle of the night, but if it wasn't dark, I honestly would have thought it was 4:00 in the afternoon with the hundreds of people just sitting, walking, smoking, and being extremely loud everywhere we looked as we tried to drive by as fast as possible without drawing too much attention to ourselves to avoid a car-jacking on the way to the hospital. You think I'm kidding?

After a 14 hour hellish ordeal called delivery our little 7 lbs 13 oz Kaylee Christine came into the world, and changed our lives forever.

(A post script-Shara hates ALL pictures of her right after the baby was born so don't judge her appearance)
